Marketplace terms
Clear rules for direct connections.
Last updated 2 November 2026. These terms describe the Watt Workforce marketplace.
1. Operator and acceptance
Watt Workforce is operated by McElroy Family Pty Ltd, ABN 51 616 286 081, ACN 616 286 081. Business address: 16/314 Burleigh Connection Road, Burleigh Heads QLD 4220, Australia. By creating an account or using Watt Workforce, users agree to these terms. Material changes will be notified before they take effect where practicable and will apply prospectively. Users may stop using the service if they do not accept a change.
2. Direct marketplace only
Watt Workforce provides software that connects employers and retailers directly with workers, crews and subcontractors. Watt Workforce does not employ, pay, dispatch, supervise or supply them, and is not a labour-hire provider. Users make their own engagement decisions and contracts.
3. Accounts
Users must provide accurate information, maintain control of their account and promptly update material changes. An account may be restricted where necessary to protect users, investigate misuse or comply with law. Authorised administration may also remove a job ad from display and later restore it after review. Removal and restoration are recorded with a reason; restoration does not renew or extend the ad.
4. Genuine opportunities and expiry
Advertisers may publish only genuine current opportunities they are authorised to advertise. Listings must accurately describe the role or scope, location, timing and material requirements and must not be misleading, discriminatory or unlawful. New paid website ads run for 28 days from verified publication. Existing ads retain their recorded expiry. Ads are removed from public listings at expiry and no new applications are accepted then. Ordinary edits do not restart the period; the owner retains an expired historical record and associated applications.
5. Profiles and credentials
Profile, licence, accreditation, insurance, experience, availability and capacity details are self-reported unless Watt Workforce expressly states otherwise. Users must not upload sensitive credential documents. Employers and retailers must perform their own final checks with appropriate authorities and evidence.
6. Applications and contact
New customer contact begins through a job application, delivered privately to the relevant listing owner. Customer-searchable people discovery and new direct contact-code conversations are not available. Existing private conversations and replies remain available to their authorised participants. Users must not spam, scrape, harvest, resell or misuse contact or profile information. Parties may choose whether and when to share direct contact details.
7. Contracts, rates and work
Employers, retailers, workers and subcontractors agree their own scope, rates, employment or subcontract terms, tax, insurance, supervision, site access, compliance and WHS arrangements. Watt Workforce is not a party to those arrangements and does not provide legal, tax or safety advice.
8. Fees, reminders and renewal
When paid website posting is enabled, an employee ad costs A$149 and a subcontractor ad costs A$199, including GST, for 28 days. The price is shown before checkout and publication requires verified payment. Renewal is never automatic, and ordinary edits do not renew an ad. Existing ads retain their recorded expiry and purchase history. New ad posting in the native apps is temporarily unavailable during the website-only paid rollout until in-app billing is ready. A full or partial refund, or a payment dispute, pauses the affected ad while retaining its history and original expiry. This does not automatically issue a refund or reactivate an ad. Contact Watt Workforce about payment issues through the contact page. These controls do not limit the rights described in section 11.
9. Safety and conduct
Users must act lawfully and respectfully and must not harass, threaten, impersonate, exploit or discriminate against others. Reports and blocks may be reviewed, but Watt Workforce is not an emergency or dispute-resolution service.
10. Privacy and data
The Privacy Notice explains the implemented information flows and controls. Users must not enter passwords, banking details, identity documents or other unnecessary sensitive data into listings, profiles or messages.
11. Availability and liability
Watt Workforce does not guarantee that information is accurate, users are suitable or available, opportunities remain open, messages receive a response or the service is uninterrupted. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies consumer guarantees or other rights and remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.
12. Closure, law and contact
Users may stop using the service and request deletion. These terms are governed by Queensland law, subject to any mandatory rights or jurisdiction that apply to a user. Questions, complaints and notices should be sent through the contact page.
13. Optional marketing preferences
Creating an account, accepting these terms or completing a profile does not opt you into marketing. You may separately choose email and SMS consent for Watt Workforce offers, news and promotions in Marketing preferences. Both choices are optional and off by default, including for existing members who have not opted in. Verify the relevant contact detail before opting in. Withdraw consent at any time by unticking the relevant channel and saving your preferences. Service messages, including account security and listing-expiry notices, remain separate. These choices do not authorise third-party marketing. Recording a preference does not mean a marketing campaign or SMS delivery service is currently operating.
