Privacy notice · release candidate
Your information and your choices.
Last updated 22 October 2026. This notice describes the first-release information flows and account controls.
Who operates Watt Workforce
Watt Workforce is operated by McElroy Family Pty Ltd, ABN 51 616 286 081, ACN 616 286 081. Business address: 16/314 Burleigh Connection Road, Burleigh Heads QLD 4220, Australia. Privacy questions can be sent through the contact page or to hello@wattworkforce.com.au.
Information collected
Account identifiers, verified email, phone numbers and authentication security settings held by the authentication provider; account type; profile, availability and service-area details; self-reported credential and insurance status; opportunities, applications, messages, blocks and reports; consented referee details; security and audit events; and limited technical information needed to operate the service. Payments remain disabled. Résumé uploads use malware scanning and an additional PDF active-content check. The applicant must consent to sending the PDF to Cloudmersive for malware and content scanning before private storage. Sharing with the owner of a specific job requires separate application consent; future downloads can be revoked, but downloaded copies cannot be recalled. Replacing or removing a résumé, or withdrawing its application, stops further sharing.
How information is used
To authenticate users, save profiles, publish authorised opportunities, deliver job applications and their contact requests to the correct listing owner, provide marketplace messaging, prevent misuse, respond to support requests and maintain the service.
Profile visibility
Profiles are no longer offered in a customer-searchable people directory. New customer conversations start through applications to job posts. Existing private conversations and replies remain available to their authorised participants. Stored profile visibility choices and historical contact codes are not used to enable direct discovery or new unsolicited contact. Applicants may separately choose to share their current work profile with the owner of a job they apply for. Sharing is optional, starts unchecked, and is not enabled automatically for past applications. An active, explicitly shared application lets that job’s owner view only these work-profile fields: name, role, location and service area, availability, work preference, profile summary and work history. This view is not a public directory and does not expose account contact fields, raw licence numbers, referee fields, security settings or marketing choices. Changes to those work-profile fields are reflected in later views. Applicants can stop sharing from their application history without withdrawing the application. Stopping sharing, withdrawing the application, account deletion, blocking between the parties or removal of the job by moderation stops future access through this view; information already seen or copied cannot be recalled. Information applicants enter themselves in shared summaries or work history is visible to that job’s owner, so avoid entering private contact, licence or referee information in those fields. Profile sharing is separate from sharing a scanned résumé and from optional marketing choices. Raw licence numbers, referee details and private messages are not shown in public listings. Limited owner administration is described below.
Service providers
We use Clerk for authentication, Google when you choose Google sign-in, ChatGPT Sites and Cloudflare for hosting and marketplace infrastructure, and Resend for support and transactional email. The prepared résumé-scanning integration uses Cloudmersive when enabled; its Basic service lists North American processing locations, so résumé content may be processed outside Australia. These providers receive information needed for their functions, such as account identifiers, authentication details, email addresses, enquiry content and technical request information. Clerk and Resend process information in the United States. Hosting and other provider processing may also occur outside Australia; Australian-only storage is not promised. A legacy Stripe test integration may retain test-only records, but customer payments are not enabled.
Access, correction, export and deletion
Users can update profile information, export account data and request account deletion through account controls. Deletion removes or de-identifies marketplace data covered by the implemented process, subject to technical, security and legal retention needs. Contact support if the account controls cannot be used.
Retention and security
Information is retained only while needed for the service, security, dispute handling and legal obligations. Exact production retention periods, backup schedules and restore procedures must be approved before launch. No online service can promise absolute security.
Complaints and changes
Send privacy complaints or access and correction requests through the contact page or email hello@wattworkforce.com.au. Please describe your concern and the outcome you seek; we may need to verify your identity before releasing account information. If you remain dissatisfied, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner where it has jurisdiction. This notice will be updated when the operating entity, providers, retention periods or product scope changes. Material changes should be communicated before taking effect where practicable.
Owner administration and moderation
The authorised owner administrator can review marketplace account totals and limited profile details, including name, account type, role, region, description, visibility and business names used in ads, to administer and moderate the marketplace. This does not make private profiles public. The profile-review tools do not display private messages, résumé files, referee contact details or licence numbers. Job ads may be removed from the website and restored through restricted administration; the action, administrator, reason and time are recorded. Removal does not erase existing private application history or extend an ad’s expiry.
Optional marketing preferences
Email and SMS marketing choices are recorded separately for Watt Workforce offers, news and promotions. Neither is selected by default, and account creation is not marketing consent. Choosing not to opt in does not prevent use of the marketplace. We record your account identifier, channel choices, consent wording version, source and time of the preference change to manage and evidence your choices. Verify the relevant contact detail before opting in. You can withdraw consent through Marketing preferences by unticking a channel and saving; contact support if you cannot use these controls. Any future marketing messages will include a way to unsubscribe without signing in. Service messages, such as account security and listing-expiry notices, are separate. These preferences do not authorise third-party marketing and do not indicate that a campaign or SMS delivery service is currently operating.
